Administrative and New Business Intern (Part Time)

The Achievement Group is looking for an enthusiastic person to fill this entry level support role. As the Administrative and New Business Associate, you will perform various support duties and process insurance transactions, such as responding to internal and external requests for information and preparing documents, policy information and files for additional handling by other associates. The Administrative and New Business Associate will follow procedures and apply intermediate-level administrative skills and insurance knowledge that you will obtain through training to accomplish both routine and non-routine tasks and duties. Works with insurance carriers and agents to resolve new business matters, thus ensuring a policy is issued/paperwork is processed by the insurance carrier in a timely manner. This is an exciting team-based environment where you can utilize your administrative and customer service skills. No certifications, licenses or supervisory responsibilities are required for this position. Job Type: Part-time

Duties and Responsibilities

Enter and retrieve information of varying complexity using computer systems and applications to update records, obtain information for others and respond independently to most questions and problems.

Assist TAG’s orphan policy program

Help prepare weekly mailers

Perform other related support duties as requested, such as answering phones, processing mail, assisting agents, scanning, and photocopying and data entry.

Enter and update necessary data in the TAG’s database. Work with TAG team members and agents to satisfy agent’s requests.

Support TAG in a variety of other duties and responsibilities, as required by management

Education, Work Experience and Other Requirements

This position prefers a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of customer service and/or administrative experience, along with meticulous organization, speed, diligence, accuracy, initiative, timeliness, attention to detail, professionalism, time-management skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. A strong commitment to a team culture and a positive attitude is required.

Knowledge and Skills

The individual in this role must have a thorough knowledge of how to use the Internet and Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel. This position also requires the ability to operate copiers, scanners and other office technology, along with a capacity to maintain confidentiality and work well independently in a fast-paced environment.
